These quick and easy beverages are sure to please,

whether you prefer a single serving or entertaining a crowd.

These recipes are sure to cool you off on a hot day.

Frozen Punch

1 pkg orange unsweetened soft drink mix
2 pkg cherry unsweetened soft drink mix
3 cups sugar
21 oz lemon lime carbonated drink
6 cups water
1/2 cup plus 1 tbsp lemon juice
1 can pineapple juice

Mix well. Freeze. Thaw partly and chip before using.

Lemon-Lime Punch

4 envelopes lemon-lime unsweetened soft drink mix
2 cans pineapple juice
6 quarts water
4 cups sugar
2 large bottles ginger ale

Mix together all ingredients. Serves 50 people.


Southern Sweet Tea

Use your favorite decaf or regular tea bags.

Boil 2 family sized tea bags in a small pot of water for 8 to 10 minutes.

Fill a half gallon pitcher 1/2 full with water.

Add 1 cup sugar (or use sugar syrup recipe) to water and stir.

Add boiled tea to the pitcher and finish filling pitcher with water.

Stir and serve in ice filled glasses.


Sugar Syrup Recipe

1 cup of sugar
1 cup of water

Mix well until totally dissolved.


Lemonade

2 cups lemon juice
5 cups water
ice cubes (optional)
1 cup of sugar syrup

Mix juice, water and sugar syrup. Stir well and serve in ice filled glasses.


Root Beer Float

1 - 2 scoops ice cream
a splash of root beer
glass or coffee mug

Dip ice cream into glass. Pour in root beer. Enjoy.

( This was one of my favorite treats when I visited Grandma. )

Twisted Milkshakes

3 scoops of your favorite ice cream
a splash of milk
a variation of your choice

Mix well in blender. Pour in a large glass. Enjoy.

Variations:

1. Candy bits
2. Cookie bits
3. Fruit bits
4. Topping sauce
5. Flavored syrup
6. Combinations of your favorite variations, (1&2, 2&5, 1&2&4, etc.)


Chocolate Syrup

1/2 cup cocoa
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 cup water
2 tsp vanilla
dash salt

Combine cocoa, sugar and salt in a saucepan. Mix until cocoa lumps are gone.

Add water. Mix well.

Bring mixture to a boil over medium heat for approximately four minutes.

Stir often so it does not boil over or burn.

Remove from heat and cool for 15 minutes.

Add vanilla.
